The winners of 2025 Global Telecoms Awards (Glotel Awards), a prestigious authority in the global telecommunications industry, have been officially unveiled in recent days. AsiaInfo Technologies, in collaboration with China Telecom Hainan and CHN Energy (Hainan) New Energy Development Co., Ltd., has been chosen from numerous participating enterprises across the globe, and honored with the "Enterprise Solution Excellence" award for their "innovative MOCN public-private integrated 5G network solution" deployed at the Wanning Liji Photovoltaic Power Station in Hainan Province.

The award-winning solution addresses the challenges of uneven public network coverage, complex terrain and secure isolation of production data at the Wanning Liji 100MW agricultural-solar complementary photovoltaic power station in Hainan Province, and pioneers the MOCN (Multi-Operator Core Network) public-private integrated network architecture, breaking through the bottlenecks of traditional network construction, setting a new benchmark in energy-specific private network development and providing a replicable and scalable reference mode for similar scenarios worldwide.

01 Technological Innovation: Breaking with Tradition to Pioneer a New MOCN Public-Private Integrated Network Mode

 

As the core supplier of this Project, AsiaInfo Technologies has achieved key technological breakthroughs by leveraging its independently developed AISWare AgileNet private 5G network portfolio:

 

1. Full core network sinking for enhanced data security: To ensure the security of core production data, AsiaInfo Technologies has deployed a fully sinking 5G core network (5GC) for this Project. Characterized by "lightweight and convergence", it deeply integrates 5GC with IMS, enabling localized processing and closed-loop transmission of all production data within the park. In addition, it achieves physical isolation from the public network, fully meeting the stringent "Data localization" requirement in the energy industry.

 

2. MOCN technology integration for extreme cost reduction and efficiency improvement: This solution innovatively employs MOCN technology to connect existing public network base station resources to the client-side private 5G core network. This approach endows public network base stations with private network attributes while achieving seamless roaming between public and private networks. Consequently, it attains high-quality network coverage at minimal retrofit costs and establishes a solid foundation for the continuous improvement of operational efficiency.

3. Customized Blind Area Coverage for All Scenarios: To address communication blind area within the photovoltaic power station, AsiaInfo Technologies has deployed its self-developed integrated private 5G network base station. The base station is engineered to effectively withstand erosion from high-humidity and high-salt-fog environments, ensuring stable communication under complex weather conditions.

The Wanning Liji Photovoltaic Power Station in Hainan Province has achieved comprehensive intelligent upgrading by leveraging a high-quality private 5G network as its digital foundation. The stable network not only meets high-concurrency demands such as autonomous UAV tour inspection, mobile video surveillance and individual terminal operations, but also enables real-time data collection and transmission for photovoltaic components, inverters and other equipment. The reliable connectivity provided by the private 5G network enhances the operational/maintenance efficiency of the power station, offering critical support for the stable production and transmission of approximately 128 million kWh clean electricity annually, and establishing a forward-looking model for energy-specific digital transformation—the "AsiaInfo sample".
