Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, located on the eastern coast of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is where AsiaInfo Technologies partnered with Fuqing Nuclear Power, China Mobile System Integration, China Nuclear Power Engineering, China Mobile Fuqing and China Nuclear Industry Maintenance to build a private 5G network specific for nuclear power production—the world's first application in nuclear power units. Here, the larger-scale and plant-wide private 5G network specific for nuclear power has been officially launched recently, and Fuqing Nuclear Power has thereby been included in MIIT's 2024 List of 5G Factories!
The completion of private 5G network marks a key step forward for Fuqing Nuclear Power in digital transformation and intelligent power plant construction. The private network will deliver faster, more stable and more secure wireless communication for the nuclear power plant, and provide supports for converged communication, positioning service, digital production and tour inspection, production data management and other applications, thereby enhancing production efficiency and reducing operational costs.

Now, the private 5G network at Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant meets all technical requirements, operates with stable and reliable system performance, and maintains robust security controls, marking the gradual formation of a fully digitalized nuclear power unit.
