In recent days, AsiaInfo Technologies has secured the production-specific 5G wireless network (private 5G network) project at Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant (Phase II, namely Unit 3 and Unit 4) of China Huaneng Group. AsiaInfo Technologies will collaborate with China Mobile Hainan to build a fully domestic, secure, efficient and independently controllable private 5G network with high performance for Unit 3 and Unit 4. This contract win opens new avenues for AsiaInfo Technologies to expand its private network services for large-sized enterprises.
As we know, China Huaneng Group is a mega-sized energy enterprise directly administered by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Its Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant—the largest energy investment project in Hainan's history—is projected to supply 18 billion kWh clean electricity annually to Hainan Province. This output equates to reducing standard coal consumption by 5.5 million tons and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 13 million tons.
Leveraging its full-chain capabilities in private 5G network planning, design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance, AsiaInfo Technologies has developed the current private 5G network deployment plan for Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant which specifically addresses the site's individualized scenarios and safety requirements while incorporating proven experience from successful private 5G network deployment for "Hualong One" Unit:

Ultimate Security Protection: Standalone private network architecture ensures complete isolation from public networks; Multiple protection deployments, multi-round penetration tests, and vulnerability scanning fulfill Level 3 classified protection requirements; Mechanisms such as terminal-USIM card binding and secondary authentication guarantee legitimate terminal access.
Customized Equipment with Stability and Reliability: The relevant equipment meets requirements for radiation tolerance, high performance, strong scalability and reliability, complying with electromagnetic compatibility standards.
Upon completion, this private 5G network will carry mobile Internet services across indoor and outdoor production zones of the nuclear power plant, including voice communication, SMS transmission, video surveillance, trunk dispatching and personnel positioning. It will also provide communication guarantees for the future smart power plant's data acquisition and control-related services, serving as the efficient, stable and secure "central nervous system" for the digital and intelligent construction of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant.
