AsiaInfo Achieved Nearly 8 Billion in Revenue Last Year and Aims to Implement Its Strategy of "Borrowing Ships to Go to the Sea"

On 18 March, AsiaInfo Holdings Co., Ltd. announced its annual results for 2023. The revenue for the year was RMB 7,891 million, up 2.0% year-on-year. The adjusted net profit for the year was RMB 851 million, with the net profit margin remaining in double digits at 10.8%. The operating cash flow was RMB 582 million, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year. 


As digital technology becomes increasingly integrated with the real economy, AsiaInfo has focused on industries such as energy, transportation, and government affairs. In 2023, the Company improved its "standard products + solutions" model, generating RMB 965 million in digital professional revenue from vertical industries, a 27.5% increase from the previous year, constituting 12.2% of total revenue. Among them, the transportation industry contributed RMB 316 million, up 458.5% year-on-year, while the energy industry achieved revenues of RMB 269 million, up 136.5% year-on-year.


Taking the energy industry as an example, the Company has signed agreements with 23 nuclear power units for its nuclear power plant 5G private network project, encompassing nearly 30% of China's operational and under-construction nuclear power units. In the field of wind power, the Company's 5G private network project covered over 100 wind power farm and has partnered with China Broadcast Network and CGN NE, successfully applying its self-developed 700MHz base stations in the construction of 5G private network for wind power.


During a discussion about AsiaInfo's future strategy, Chairman Tian Suning emphasized that, there may be some uncertainty in external economic development in 2024. However, AsiaInfo will continue to explore opportunities and make breakthroughs in this challenging environment. Based on the promotion of the business strategy of "One Consolidation with Three Developments", the Company will further implement the "Four Transformations" development strategy towards non-communication industries, standard products, integrated software and hardware products, and the international market, providing comprehensive services for customers, industry, and the whole society.


He stated that AsiaInfo will actively integrate into the global ecosystem and explore markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia through overseas channels and the strategy of "borrowing ships to go to the sea" as its capabilities in standardized products mature, promoting its hardware and software integrated standard products, such as 5G private networks, O-RAN, and edge AI, to the international market.
