Dr. Ouyang Ye believes that the new application scenarios in the 5G era put forward higher requirements for network performance, indicating that “all-round perception, comprehensive analysis, integrated management and control, and intelligent operations” are the development directions of future networks.

With the digital twins and the digital mirror image of the physical network built by AI technology, the phases of “planning, construction, optimization, operations” of 5G network are empowered, which will better support the development of the entire network services in the 5G era, and greatly improves the B-end and C-end user network and service experience.

In recent years, AsiaInfo has meticulously built a digital twin technology development and scenario construction platform, and applied it in operator resource planning, communication guarantee for major events and other activities. “Practice has proved that the combination of digital network twin technology and big data of operators can achieve low-cost trial and error, intelligent prediction and rapid project delivery, promote efficient innovation of network services, and better satisfy the 5G network requirements of vertical industries, realize total-factor and full lifecycle network management, and greatly improve the intelligence level of 5G network”, said Dr. Ye Ouyang.

Currently, AsiaInfo’s digital twin products are rapidly developing. In addition to network construction and operations, it also plays an important role in areas such as smart cities.

5G urban digital twin platform of AsiaInfo empowers smart city construction, management and operation

Driven by the “new infrastructure” and the digital transformation of various industries, the smart city construction in China is accelerating. Supported by digital twin technology, the concepts in the physical world can be projected into the digital virtual reality, thus providing an important reference for the physical construction and service operation of smart cities. Based on digital twin technology, AsiaInfo provides top-to-bottom service support for the construction of “smart cities”.

Oriented to the needs of smart city construction, AISWare AICity, the 5G urban digital twin platform, based on the construction and operation capabilities of twin scenarios, can quickly realize the construction of urban space, virtuality & reality interaction, intelligent simulation, and empower city management and operation through lightweight platform and online applications. It has many characteristics, including cloud-native flexible architecture, extreme visual experience, integrated twin construction, one-stop service scenario orchestration, immersive scenario monitoring, zero-distance virtuality & reality interaction, as well as integrated access, business choreography, AI empowerment, plug-in application and delivery capability with open API capability. The product was awarded the “Excellent Project of Leading Scientific and Technological Achievement” at the 2021 China International Big Data Industry Expo.
