Recently, China Mobile Communications Group Zhejiang Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: China Mobile Zhejiang Branch) completed the migration of the provincial channel center data to domestic database. Since the completion of the migration, the system has been running steadily and all indicators are normal. This indicated the success of China Mobile and the entire industry to replace traditional strong databases and hardware device with “domestic database + domestic server”. The former “domestic” exactly refers to the distributed database product AISWare AntDB of AsiaInfo.

The “channel center” is the hub where telecom operators provide unified support and centralized operation management for various business channels such as online and offline, own and cooperative business, which is one of the most core business systems. It provides channel information, personnel, capital pool, remuneration, SIM card sales and process management to the business side, with high requirements for system stability, service continuity and data accuracy.

After strict evaluation and selection, AsiaInfo’s AISWare AntDB was finally determined to be the database for the migration of channel center of China Mobile Zhejiang Branch to domestic database. AISWare AntDB is a version developed by AsiaInfo Database Innovation Lab based on open source PostgreSQL, featuring high availability of automation, high performance and extreme stability. Relevant project personnel introduced, “through the multi-modal SQL dynamic analysis engine and configurable compatible technology of database, the accessibility of the application system can be improved, and the development cost, learning cost, and operation and maintenance cost of system migration can be reduced; and the system maintenance costs can be greatly reduced by the self-healing of kernel failure and the autonomy. The above features successfully supported the high-quality completion of this migration in the short term.”

This database migration not only achieves perfect take-over in terms of the stability of the system and services, but also promotes low-cost support and high-efficiency migration to a new level. It is also the first time in the field of telecommunications operators to implement the full integration of PostgreSQL ecological database (AISWare AntDB) and Huawei Kunpeng server as well as a successful commercial use in core business scenario.

Developed by AsiaInfo Database Innovation Lab with years of great concentration, by ways of guiding practice with theory, refining theory with practice, AISWare AntDB is a native distributed database product which is extendable, autonomous, reliable and transparent to business with multi-tenant, high availability, high performance and low-cost. Its structure and system have extremely strong stability. The product has successfully passed the distributed transaction database standard test organized by the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (hereinafter referred to as “CAICT”), and was awarded “PostgreSQL Best Product of the Year” at the PostgresConf.CN2019 held by PostgreSQL Association. At the same time, AsiaInfo Technology, as the initiator, jointly established the “Database Application Innovation Lab” with institutions and enterprises such as CAICT, Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud.

At present, AISWare AntDB is not only a database product used by AsiaInfo itself, but also widely applied in telecommunications, radio and television, postal services, transportation, finance and other industries. The products operate stably and reliably, realizing zero failure and zero operation & maintenance in the production environment of the enterprise. The successful database migration of China Mobile Zhejiang Branch also accumulated experience and laid the foundation for the subsequent realization of core database migration with greater transaction volume and more complex scenarios.
