AsiaInfo signs a contract with China Telecom to create a new 5G era

To jointly promote the development of 5G technology, accelerate 5G commercialization, and share the 5G development dividend, China Telecom recently held a 5G innovation and cooperation conference in Shenzhen. Ruiwen Ke, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Chairman of China Telecom, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled “Hello 5G Innovation and Opening up, Empower the Future”. Nianshu Gao, CEO of AsiaInfo, attended the conference and signed a contract with China Telecom. Wu Chen and Wenze Wang, AsiaInfo’s Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively, were also present at the conference.

5G has been included into the priorities of the central economic work. It was clearly proposed at the conference that 5G commercialization should be accelerated. This year is the first year of 5G commercialization. Accelerating 5G commercialization is also a basic requirement for implementing the new development concept. In the promotion of 5G commercialization, it’s required to have comprehensive innovation in the technical business, promote coordinated development of the industrial chain, reduce energy consumption and costs of terminal equipment, make the best of resource capacity, and enable all people to share development achievements.

At this conference, China Telecom signed contracts with nearly 60 industrial chain core partners engaged in industry applications, technology innovation, general business and terminals, including AsiaInfo, Xinhuanet, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, ZTE, Inspur, Ericsson, ByteDance, Xiaomi. China Telecom will join hands with the partners to create a new 5G era.

    

16 industry leaders are partners of “technical innovation type” signing at the conference, including AsiaInfo, Huawei, ZTE, CICT, Ericsson (China), Nokia Shanghai Bell, and Inspur Group.
